One of 27,284 1994 Pre-Ban rifles manufactured by Colt, this Sporter Lightweight is stamped with the Rampant Colt logo beside the "COLT" emblem, and is marked "SPORTER/ LIGHTWEIGHT/ CAL. 223" above the serial number on the left side of the receiver. The 16" barrel is marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7" across the top. Standard AR-15 features include a fixed synthetic A2 style stock, pistol grip, and ribbed handguard, elevation and windage adjustable front and rear sights, as well as a birdcage flash suppressor. Rifle is complete with a Colt 10 round magazine, a black canvas sling, and original hangtag. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory finish, exhibiting some small scattered superficial handling and storage marks. Mirror bore, with sharp rifling throughout. Synthetic furniture components are equivalent to the rest of the rifle, exhibiting few minor superficial handling and storage marks. A very nice example of a desirable Colt AR variant. -MLW-
