With only an estimated 2200 examples manufactured during the first year of production, this Colt Official Police revolver features all blue finish, and is fitted with a 6" barrel, which features a half-moon blade front sight, with a notched rear sight on the serrated top strap. The left side of the barrel is marked "COLT OFFICIAL/POLICE .22 LONG RIFLE", with Colt's 2 line address across the top. The left side of the frame is stamped with the Rampant Colt logo. The hammer and trigger are checkered, with the backstrap being smooth. Complete with a later production 2 piece set of Colt checkered wood silver medallion grips. CONDITION: Metal components retain plentiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting few small areas of wear, and a small area of pitting on the top corner near the top strap, near the breech on either side. Mirror bore, with sharp rifling throughout. Checkered wood grips show some smoothing, and a few handling marks. An absolutely fine example of a first year production Colt Official Police .22 caliber revolver. -MLW-
