Half-moon front sight, U-notch rear sight, with right side of slide with "COLT // AUTOMATIC / CALIBRE .45 // (Colt Pony)", left side with 2-line 1-block address and patent dates. "P" and "G" proofs in front of barrel lug and "S" on rear of lug. "S" subinspector proof on top of frame. Trigger guard with Colt VP proof and subinspectors. Checkered small parts with relief milled slide release, short 1911 grip safety, flat mainspring housing with lanyard loop, heart-shaped lightening cuts. Long milled trigger. Truncated diamond walnut grips. Some highlighting paint on magazine release and some silver paint (?) on tops and bottoms of grip scales. Magazine is an extremely rare Springfield World War I magazine with folded and welded flanges with nicely visible heat temper line; earlier lanyard loop variation. CONDITION: Very good. Pistol retains the vast majority of the Colt blue finish with some losses scattered about and at normal high contact including muzzle, dust cover, and both straps. Slight takedown mark. Magazine is very good with some scattered old inactive oxidation. Bore is very good with frosting throughout. A good condition interwar gun with a very rare magazine. EW
