Dutch Contract Steyr M95 Cavalry Carbine made by the Hemberg factory in 1920. 18" round barrel chambered in 6.5X53mmR with Dutch Model 1890 rear sight graduated for 2000 meters. 1-piece wooden stock and groove forearm with correct upper handguard that goes past the forearm cap bayonet lug. Cavalry Type II sling swivels (rear sling swivel is fixed). Interesting wooden block attached to magazine on left side, this was to protect the magazine when carbine was slung across the back of a cavalryman. Dutch proofs and acceptance markings on bolt, forearm cap, ejector, and bolt raceway near tang. Faint Dutch acceptance cartouche on left side of stock denoting acceptance by the government of Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands, the factory this gun was manufactured in, and the year of manufacture (1920). CONDITION: NRA Good, with stock repaired at toe, sanded, and refinished. Action works appropriately. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. -TN-
