Standard configuration P.38 manufactured between October and November of 1943 by Walther. The left side of the slide is marked "P.38 ac/43" followed by the serial number. Safety positions are marked with a white highlighted "S" and a red highlighted "F", with other proofs and manufacturer markings being highlighted in white. Right side of slide bears standard Walther wartime eagle over "359" acceptance proofs. Matching numbers include the frame, slide, barrel, and locking block. Blued magazine is marked "P.38" on the left side and bears the Walther eagle over "359" waffenamt on the upper spine. CONDITION: Barrel and slide retain ample amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting several small areas of thinning accompanied by high edge wear. Frame exhibits wear and thinning all around that shows through to a pleasing patina. Bore is bright, showing some light oxidation, but otherwise retaining well-defined rifling throughout. 2-piece bakelite grips show some scattered handling and storage marks. A very nice example of a Walther wartime production P.38 pistol. -MLW-
