Manufactured in 1938 by Mauser. Receiver is marked "1938" over the chamber area with Mauser eagle over "WaA63" waffenamts on the right. Toggle is marked "S/42". Metal components have been entirely reblued, and retain a mixture of blue finishes. All matching numbers, with the exception of the grips, which match themselves. Sideplate and barrel are force matched. Magazine is of contemporary manufacture and features a blank wood bottom. Complete with a reproduction holster marked "OTTO SINDEL/ BERLIN/ 1938" which contains an exceptionally rare police unit marked magazine, which is stamped "S.H.S.I.13.". CONDITION: Metal components retain generous amounts of their reapplied blue finishes, exhibiting a few minor areas of wear and light thinning, and showing several areas of pitting beneath the finish. Mirror bore with good rifling throughout. Checkered walnut grips are good, showing some smoothing all around and a few indentations. Reproduction holster shows a few minor handling and storage marks. Police unit marked magazine shows scattered wear as well as some age related discoloration. A nice, range ready P.08. -MLW-
