Developed with the intention of replacing the British military's Sten machine gun during World War II, the Sterling submachine gun entered service during the 1950s and remained in use into the 1990s. This example was manufactured by Wise Lite Arms from a combination of new and surplus components. Top of magazine well is marked "STERLING/ SMG/ 9mm/ MK4 (L2A3)" above the serial number. Left side of the receiver bears several lines of text stipulating the manufacturer, model, and caliber information. Features include a 16" round barrel, perforated barrel shroud, collapsible folding stock, post front sight with a 2-leaf rear sight, and a modified closed bolt semi-automatic receiver. Fire selector is cosmetically marked "A R S" (For full-auto, semi-auto, and safe), but cannot be pushed past the semi-automatic position. Complete with one blue and one phosphate finished 34 round magazines, canvas sling, Sterling Sporter manual, and a custom hard case. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory-applied finish, exhibiting few minor areas of wear. Bright mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Black plastic checkered pistol grip exhibits scattered areas of handling marks all around. Magazines show some wear but retain rollers and appear perfectly functional. An appealing and range ready Sterling Sporter semi-automatic rifle. -MLW-
