Lot consists of: (A) Mauser Gewehr 98 bolt action magazine rifle made at Spandau Arsenal in 1917. Full military style barrel with integral blade front sight and rear military sight graduated to 2000 meters. Spadau marked receiver with matching straight handle bolt. Walnut full military finger groove style stock with matching hardware and stock is stamped with rifle serial number and unit markings. Hard to find in all matching configuration. CONDITION: Overall in well-used condition with heavy usage marks and dings consistent with use in combat. Dark but shootable bore with good mechanics. (B) Mauser Gewehr 88 made by Steyr in Austria in 1890. Blued non-import marked barrel with correct military sights with matching serial number stamped on barrel and receiver. Unit markings on bands and receiver. Matching original bolt. Full military walnut stock with arsenal markings. Comes with tag explaining the history of the unit markings saying it was carried by the "8th Shutzen of the 6th Co 118th Infantry Regiment" and later by the "5th Musketeer of The 1st Co 132nd Landwehr Regiment." CONDITION: Overall good for age with metal still showing traces of original finish with some light pitting. Wood has oil-soaked appearance with heavy usage marks. Dark but shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
