Lot consists of (A) Standard production Japanese Type 26 revolver manufactured at the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal. Features include blue finish, fixed blade front sight, notched rear sight, checkered wood grips, and a lanyard loop. Matching numbers are present on the exterior of the frame on the right side, interior of frame on the left, sideplate, rebound lever, trigger guard, and barrel. Barrel assembly number "68" matches the cylinder's assembly number of "668". Grips do not match. Right side of frame bears the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal emblem above kanji characters stipulating the model and the serial number. Bottom of butt bears several inspector markings. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting wear and thinning all around that shows through to gray and brown patinas. Mirror bore, showing strong and well defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered wood grips show some smoothing as well as a couple of impressions. (B) Japanese Type 94 pistol manufactured at the Chuo Kogyo arsenal in December of 1940. Right side of receiver is bears several markings stipulating the date of manufacture, manufacturer, and serial number. Matching numbers include the frame, trigger, receiver, barrel, crossbolt, locking block, bolt firing pin, and magazine. Complete with an original Type 94 leather holster. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of blue finish, exhibiting a few areas of light oxidation and a few minor areas of wear. Mirror bore, with good rifling throughout. Black plastic grips exhibit some wear, with some nicks to the checkering and chips along the edges. Holster has been restitched and shows some handling marks and age related wear. A nice pair of 20th century Imperial Japanese handguns. -MLW-
