Yew wood pitched pediment case with brass mounted half columns flanking the bonnet door, carved scroll work brackets and an inset oculus in the lower portion. Morbier time and strike movement. With a later silvered brass dial signed: "ROBERT QUARE LONDON". Circa 1800 with later dial.

CORRECTION: Estimate and title updated. Period English Hooded Clock by Robert Quare, nephew of Daniel Quare. Ca-1680-1720. Rope driven movement featuring striking repeat on ½ hour of upcoming hour. Case constructed of English White oak, with Rosewood veneers. Silvered dial signed by Robert Quare. Clock authenticated, and restoration completed by world-renowned horologist Ron Hoppes. Ron was also instrumental in restoring the Rittenhouse clock of Drexel University.
