Percussion Kentucky Style rifle stamped "WURFFLEIN PHILADA" on top barrel flat. Possibly the work of one of the Wurfflein Family of gunsmiths who worked in the Philadelphia Area of Pennsylvania between 1835 and 1900. Full octagon smoothbore barrel with rifle style sights. Percussion lock marked "C. Baker", who is a lock maker from New York. Gun has single trigger control. Full curly maple stock with brass furniture including a Pineapple finial Philadelphia style patchbox with push button lid release in toe. Comes with original style hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good condition with areas of chipping around pins. Metal has aged patina with some powder pitting on barrel and lock. Wood has traces of original finish with a coat of linseed oil. Brass has aged golden patina. Dark shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
