Percussion Kentucky style rifle made by "W. Foliart" circa 1850 who is unlocated. Gun resembles guns made in the Western Pennsylvania/Eastern Ohio River areas. Full octagon rifled barrel with rifle style sights stamped "W. Foliart". Percussion "Josh Golcher" lock with protected ignition system and controlled by double set triggers. Full curly maple stock with great tiger pattern with brass hardware with "Swinging" lid patchbox used extensively in the Western PA/Ohio River Areas. Comes with original hardwood ramrod. CONDITION: Metal has aged patina with some pitting around ignition areas and some burnout in the wood in that area. Brass has golden patina color. Wood has traces of original finish with several aged cracks along forestock with some missing chunks of wood. Toe area has missing chunk of wood with a small crack behind lockplate. Dark bore with visible rifling and functioning mechanics. Rifle has great untouched look and remains in semi-useable condition considering the hard use these type of rifles received. DLM
