L. C. Smith Ideal Grade side by side shotgun made by the L.C. Smith Gun Company in Fulton, New York in 1948. London Steel barrels with matted high rib sighting plane, bead front sight, and ejectors marked on right barrel "L.C. Smith 20GA "IDEAL" Fulton, N.Y. U.S.A.". Case hardened sidelock action with Ideal Grade style floral engraving. Gun has single selective trigger and non-automatic safety. Walnut checkered pistol grip stock with black plastic buttplate and grip cap. Walnut checkered full beavertail forearm with roller latch. CONDITION: 80% original barrel blue with wear on carry areas turning a slight silvery patina. Trigger guard blue worn silver on handling areas. Frame retains 10% fading case colors with balance in protected areas. 80% original varnish with some cracks in finish and some light handling marks. Small hairline crack behind right lock and buttplate is a replacement. Good bores and mechanics with tight lock up. DLM
