British Fazakerley No.4 MK1 Enfield bolt action rifle. Made during World War II and factory refurbished post-War. Import marked on the left side of the frame. Serial numbers on the forestock, stock socket, bolt and magazine have been re-stamped to match at the arsenal. Bolt is "S" marked for Savage with a "2" stamp on the bolt head. Metal has been repainted with the typical black 1950's era enamel finish. Typical lacquered stock as well with a factory repair mark on the top of the butt. There is an inventory sticker on the left side of the butt. Brass butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 90% of its reapplied black finish on most of the metal components. There is a small blotch of red paint on the left side of the front band (not sure why, looks like it was spilled on). Wood has a few minor dings scratches and dents. Bore is lightly frosted, but does retain sharp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
