Given serial number, manufacture circa 1918. Early five screw frame with barrel marked "SMITH & WESSON" on left side, 2 line patent and address across top, and "REGULATION POLICE / 38 S. & W. CTG" on right. Frame is devoid of any markings. Serial number appropriately on forestrap. Half moon fornt sight, U notch rear sight. Checkered walnut grips with golden S&W medallions. Case colored hammer and trigger. Appropriate maroon box with green endlabel. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the factory blue with some silver marks from handling and operation. Some silvering to muzzle appropriate to holster wear. Some silvering to high edges and operational areas. Cylinder with turn line. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is very good with strong rifling and some frosting. Box is very good with expected rubbing and few spots of peeling from age but complete; one tear at thumb lift. EW
