Lot consists of: (A) Smith & Wesson Pre-War .38 Heavy Duty double action revolver. Made early 1930s. "S&W" Monogram on the left side of the frame. No patent dates on the top of the barrel. 5" heavy barrel with half moon front sight and U-notch rear. Factory blued finish. Case hardened hammer and trigger. Square butt. Smith & Wesson monogram checkered grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with most of the wear on the grip straps. Grips have wear, scratches, and handling marks. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing. Drag lines on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. (B) Smith & Wesson Pre-War .38 Heavy Duty double action revolver. Made late 1930s. "S&W" monogram on the left side of the frame. Patent dates on the top of the barrel. 5" heavy barrel with half moon front sight and U-notch rear. Factory blued finish. Case hardened hammer and trigger. Square butt. Aftermarket stag grips with "S&W" style monograms. CONDITION: Metal retains 65% of its original finish with most of the wear on the grip straps. There is some wear on the frame and barrel as well. Grips are excellent. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Tight hammer and cylinder. Good timing. Drag lines on the cylinder. Mechanically fine. JWA
