The Swiss Model 1900 Luger was manufactured by DWM for commercial and military sales in Switzerland. These very early Luger variations are comprised of Old Model parts and were sold commercially prior to the military adoption of the Luger by the Swiss Military in 1901. The serial numbers for the Swiss Military contract Model 1900 Lugers are within the 2001-5000 range. This example's serial number of "2522", places it about halfway through the Swiss Military's contract. Major metal components are blued, with smaller components being strawed. The tapered barrel measures 4 - 3/4" and the toggles are dished. Narrow variation trigger with grooved safety lever. Receiver is marked with the Swiss cross within a sunburst, with Swiss proofs on the left-hand side. Swiss cross acceptance proofs are present on the receiver, barrel, and rear toggle link. DWM monogram on toggle. All numbers are matching, with the exception of the magazine, which is unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of what appears to be their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting a couple small areas of wear and some minute nicks from handling. Grip straps exhibit some light freckling. Strawed components are fine, exhibiting little wear all around. Mirror bore, with finely defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips exhibit some smoothing, as well as a few nicks and impressions from handling and storage. A fine example of an early Swiss Model 1900 Luger. -MLW-
