10,000 Model 1906 Luger were assembled by Vickers LTD in England with parts from DWM under contract for the Netherlands between 1915-1917 due to then-current hostilities between Germany and Holland. This example's major metal components are blued, with smaller components being strawed. Receiver is blank over the chamber area, with a Dutch crown over "W" proof for Queen Wilhelmina on the left side. Safety is marked "RUST", with the extractor being marked "GELADEN" on either side. Left side of frame retains its brass data plate, which is unmarked. Matching numbers include the frame, locking bolt, trigger, sideplate, barrel, receiver, and trigger bar. Breechblock and toggles are unnumbered, with the grip safety, grips, and magazine being mismatched. CONDITION: Metal components retain fair amounts of their original finish, exhibiting wear from handling and use, as well as surface oxidation all around with pitting present beneath the grips. Strawed components retain faint traces of their original finish, showing areas of age-related discoloration, and with the balance turning a grey patina. Bore shows pitting throughout and retains poor rifling. Grips show some scattered losses, with smoothing all around. These Vickers Model 1906 Dutch Lugers are scarce today, as most were heavily used in tropical environments. MLW
