Standard configuration commercial P.08 manufactured by Mauser in 1940 for commercial sales. Major metal components are blued, with smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Receiver is marked "1940" over the chamber area, with an eagle over "N" proof on the left side above the serial number. Eagle over "N" proof is also present on the left side of the breechblock and on the front sight block. Interior of grips bear the last two digits of the serial number and eagle over "655" waffenamts. All numbers are matching with the exception of the magazine, which is unnumbered. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting few minor areas of wear with some light freckling present on the grip straps. Bore is bright, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips exhibiting some smoothing, as well as some impressions and nicks to the diamonds. MLW
