Manufactured by Mauser in 1941 for units within Germany. The chamber area is marked "1941" with an eagle over "L" proof on the right-hand side of the receiver, indicating issue to Police and Postal units, and with eagle over "N" proofs present on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. Toggle bears the Mauser Banner logo. Checkered walnut grips are stamped with Mauser's eagle over "655" waffenamt. Receiver is equipped with a sear safety. Metal components are entirely finished in salt bluing. All numbers are matching with the exception of the barrel and grips which are unnumbered, as well as the magazines which are force matched. Complete with an additional blued Haenel magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their salt blue finish, exhibiting some minor areas of wear that show through to silvering, as well as a small area of wear on the toe of the frame that shows through to a brown patina. Barrel shows a few areas of light pitting and a few scratches to the finish from cleaning. Bore is bright, exhibiting some very light surface oxidation, and retains well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips show some smoothing and some scattered nicks and impressions, as well as an indentation on the right grip panel. A nice example of a German World War II Era Police Luger. -MLW-
