Model 1906 Luger manufactured by DWM for military contract sales in Switzerland. Major metal components are blued, with smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Receiver is marked with the Swiss cross in shield over the chamber, with 2 crosses over "M" proofs within oval inspection proofs on the left-hand side. Toggle bears the "DWM" monogram. Magazine retains Swiss-style disc inserts. All numbers are matching with the exception of the firing pin and magazine which are unnumbered. Complete with a 1914 dated brown leather Swiss holster, which is maker marked "A. JENNI/BERN" on the rear, with a Swiss cross over "K" military proof on the inside of the flap. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting few minor areas of wear that show through to silvering. Strawed components retain the majority of their arsenal reapplied finish, showing some small concentrated areas of wear. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Checkered walnut grips are very good, showing some light smoothing to the diamonds. Holster is en suite, showing strong original stitching and showing some scattered marks from handling and storage. Only slightly over 5,000 of these "Cross in Shield" Lugers were manufactured, and fall within the 10000-15215 serial number range, making this a nice example of a DWM Swiss contract Model 1906 Luger. -MLW-
