Manufactured in 1897. The accompanying Colt Archives letter states that this gun has the following features. Nickel finish with ivory grips and factory engraved. It has a 6" barrel supplied without an ejector. Shipped to "A.G. Spalding & Brothers" in "Chicago, Illinois" in a shipment of one gun on April 30, 1897. This gun has about 70% coverage of scroll and punch dot engraving. 2-line address on top of the barrel. 3-line patent dates on left side of receiver. CONDITION: This gun has been restored and retains 99% of the aftermarket nickel finish. The action works in both single and double action. It indexes and locks uptight. The factory original ivory 2-piece grips have the last 3 digits of the serial number scratched into them. Bore is dark with some frosting in the lands and grooves. An extremely rare factory engraved long barrel Sheriff's Model. REW
