1894 Vintage Winchester Model 1886 Deluxe Rifle, serial number 89231. 26" full octagon barrel with full-length magazine tube. Chambered in .45-90 WCF. Blue with case hardened frame, lever, hammer, forearm cap, and buttplate. Beautiful special ordered flame grain checkered, pistol grip stock, and forearm. Rifle-style crescent buttplate. Standard sights and trigger. Accompanying Winchester Museum Letter confirms configuration and further states: "Serial number applied on June 13, 1894. Received in warehouse on June 20, 1894. Shipped from warehouse on June 21, 1894, Order number 14992". CONDITION: Excellent overall. Approximately 90% thinning original blue on barrel and magazine tube. Rear sight is a correct replacement. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Approximately 85% bright original case colors are remaining, turning thin on bottom of frame. Wood is sound showing modest wear. Overall a most attractive, special-ordered Winchester in desirable configuration and caliber. -MKS-
