1896 Vintage Winchester Model 1886 rifle, serial number 107263. 26" full octagon barrel with full-length magazine tube. Chambered in desirable .45-90 WCF. Blue with case hardened frame, lever, forearm cap, hammer, and crescent buttplate. Extra grain, standard straight grip stock and forearm. Rifle-style butt. Plain trigger. Standard sights. Accompanying Winchester Museum letter dated August 21, 2013, signed by Jessica Bennett, Records Specialist. Letter confirms configuration and further states: "Serial number applied on December 28, 1895" "Received in the warehouse on April 18, 1896", and "Shipped from warehouse on November 29, 1898, Order number 16404". CONDITION: Excellent overall with 80%+ original case colors remaining. Most color loss found at the carry point on bottom of the frame. Barrel and magazine tube has 93-95% original blue remaining. Bore is excellent, bright, and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Wood is outstanding, showing a nice raised grain, with minimum wear. This is a most handsome, standard grade 1886 in a desirable caliber. -MKS-
