30" dovetail lump chain Damascus barrels with single brass bead front sight on raised solid concave rib with "W & C. SCOTT & SON, PATENT TRIPLEX LEVER GRIP THE PREMIER QUALITY (W&C Scott Tower insignia) 10 Gt CASTLE STREET, REGENT CIRCUS, LONDON". Doll's head rib extension engraved with well-cut tight scroll. Barrel flats with "NOT FOR BALL" on flats (last L and part of first partially missing), "12M / 10B" and London Crown V, Crown CP, and Lion marks. Extractors. Splinter forend with iconic W&C Scott Premier quality button release engraved in tight scroll with Castle insignia. Action flats with serial number, W&C Scott patent use number 1919, U.S. patent stamps, "The Premier Gun" and W&C Scott castle insignia. Strikers with gas vents. W&C Scott back action lock with Crystal indicators, with frame engraved on left side "W&C SCOTT & SON / PATENT - BLOCK - SAFETY / HAMMERLESS" . Action is engraved with ducks and geese on left side under Crystal Indicators. Bottom with cranes and pelicans, right side with grouse. Automatic safety with "SAFE" at top; blued top lever with "PATENT" and engraving en suite. Brass shield at wrist, which is checkered in point and wave pattern. Double triggers. Trigger guard with crane, tang with serial number and scroll engraving. Prince of Wales pistol grip. Streaky walnut buttstock with horn buttplate. CONDITION: Very good. Barrels with vivid Damascus patterning and a few very minor spots of rubs that have not silvered and very minor dotting. Forearm is very good with crisp engraving and well-cut checkering, but tip was broken at one point and repaired with a spliced piece of wood. Action is very good retaining much of the case color which has faded in the high traffic areas but retains plenty of vibrant color in protected areas. Grip tang has lost much of the high polish English blue that is on trigger guard, likely from use. Stock is very good with excellent wood to metal fit and some scattered marks from field use. Barrels ring well and are tight on face, action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is excellent, smooth, and bright. This is a really nice example. EW
