A very nice and unique side by side boxlock game gun by the well known manufacturer of French firearms. The 20 gauge with 3" chambered monobloc barrels are built with ejectors, matte concave tapered solid rib with Damascus fit quarter rib and brass round front bead sight. The barrel flats have a unique lock up mechanism with 3 slots for locking. Bottom of the right barrel is engraved "IMPORTED BY DOUBLE GUNS OF NASHVILLE, TN" alongside forend loop. Barrel flats stamped with guns serial number "A1443" "AZUR" and proof mark. Just ahead of the barrel flats the barrel is stamped"15.9" for bore ID and "76" for chamber length (3") with appropriate proof markings. Barrels are fitted with Multi Chokes. The unique silvery/grey toned Damascus rounded frame scalloped boxlock action is engraved with border scroll and built with a non-auto safe checkered slide, blacked scroll and checkered top lever, and blacked double triggers. The action is also nicely supported by barrel bolsters. Left and right exterior action walls engraved with "L'ATELIER VERNEY CARRON" in ribbon. The triggers are protected by a double rolled edged trigger guard which extends to a long engraved bottom strap. The bottom strap is engraved with serial number "A1443". This sturdy uniquely built action is also fitted with disc set strikers and gas ports. The handsome smoky stock has a fine point checkering panels on its English straight grip. Buttstock is also nicely fitted with a matching silver /grey toned Damascus skeleton plate which sits on top of the matching checkered butt stock. The matching long splinter forend with blacked engraved iron metal and checkered Anson styled push button release. Gun travels in a brown leather Verney Carron case with spare choke tubes, choke wrench, certificate, and manual. CONDITION: As new. Barrels retain all of their original blue. Bores are shiny and ring like church bells. Action is tight and clean. Ejectors are perfectly timed when used with snap caps. Trigger is smooth and crisp. Stock and forend Excellent. GREAT GUN! CP
