Modern production of the venerable Mauser 98 bolt action. Banded raised front island sight with steel tipped bead front sight and silver express line rear sight. Mid barrel band with sling swivel. Barrel shank with Original Mauser logo laser etched on right side, just at the stock line. The German proofs for Ulm proofing in 2017. Both receiver rings are drilled and tapped for scope mount which is currently filled by filler screws. 3 position wing safety. Muzzle is crowned. Pistol grip stock of an attractively heavily fiddlebacked hand rubbed oiled European walnut with checkering at forearm and pistol grip. Blacked steel pistol grip cap with Mauser logo, forearm with dark wood forend tip. Beaded cheekpiece. Metal parts are blacked. Bolt handle is smooth and in a polished steel color. Blacked steel floor plate and black rubber Mauser pad. Accompanied by a black travel hard case with original Mauser paperwork numbered to gun. CONDITION: Excellent. Showing only a few very minor marks from handling and storage, likely to be shop wear. Most visible in the checkering where a few heads are abraded. Action works smoothly and appropriately when cycled by hand, rifling is excellent. Case is fine. CP.
