A modern production of the venerable Mauser 98 bolt action. Barrel with a banded front sight island with steel tipped bead front sight and silver express line rear sight. Sling swivel on mid barrel band. Barrel shank with Original Mauser logo laser etched, right side, just at the stock line, the German proofs for Ulm proofing in 2016. Both receiver rings are drilled and tapped for a scope mount, currently filled by filler screws. 3 position wing safety. "S" in white and "F" in red. Pistol grip stock of nicely figured and fiddlebacked piece of European walnut with strong checkering at forearm and pistol grip. Steel pistol grip cap with Mauser logo. Blacked steel floor plate. Forearm with dark wood tip. Beaded cheekpiece. Metal parts are blacked. Bolt handle is shiny polished steel in the white. Accompanied by a black travel hard case. CONDITION: Excellent, as new. Rifle only showing a few very minor marks from handling and operation, likely to be shop wear. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, rifling is excellent. Case is good. CP
