The 7 - 1/2" barrel features a partridge front sight with a windage adjustable rear sight on the frame. Trigger, hammer, cylinder latch, and grip straps are checkered. Frame and cylinder crane are matching with both grip panels matching by a handwritten "86" on the interior of the panels. The left side of the barrel is marked "NEW SERVICE 45 COLT", with Colt's two-line address across the top. Rampant Colt logo is present on the left side of the frame. Accompanying this lot is a factory letter, indicating that this revolver was shipped in a one gun shipment to Schoverling, Daly & Gales, New York, NY, for Ulsh Shinkel Hardware Co on May 24th of 1924. The type of stocks is "Not Listed", with all other information matching to the revolver. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting a few scattered nicks from handling and storage overall. Trigger shows some wear, with the cylinder bearing a light dragline. Rear of frame shows some very modest freckling. Hammer shows some light age-related discoloration on the sides. Mirror bore, with well-defined rifling throughout. Checkered walnut grips exhibit some small nicks and a few minor impressions to the checkering, but are otherwise fine. A very fine example of a Colt New Service revolver manufactured just over a century ago. -MLW-
