Built in 1985, this little game gun is built as a 28 gauge with 25" and 26" barrels. The barrels have 2 - 3/4" chambers, ejectors, tapered smooth concave rib, and a white front bead sight. All barrels elegantly engraved with light floral scrolled panels near breech. Ribs are marked with gold inlaid "1" and "2" near breech just slightly ahead of a bit of floral scroll. Rib's read "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co LTD. BIRMINGHAM. ENGLAND." Bottoms of barrels stamped "MADE IN ENGLAND" alongside forend loop. Tubes are stamped with guns serial number "2152". Barrel flats are appropriately marked with Birmingham nitro proofs, gauge, and chamber length. The case colored scalloped boxlock action is engraved with scroll and gold inlays. The left inlaid with two flying gold woodcock, right with one standing and one flying prairie chicken. Bottom action also with floral scrolls and a gold inlaid setter standing in a field. The double triggers are protected by a blued right hand rolled edged scroll engraved trigger guard which also has a gold inlaid running retriever. Trigger guard extends to a long scroll engraved bottom strap. The reddish-brown exhibition grade English walnut stock with straight hand grip has fine checkering, gold oval, lightly case colored heel and toe plates over its checkered butt. The matching beavertail forend is built with blued iron metal, blued Anson styled push-button release, case colored engraved escutcheon and pin. This sweet little gun is being housed in a Makers oak and leather case with nickel-plated snap caps, two-piece cleaning rod with attachments, nickel-plated oil bottle, and paper trade label. CONDITION: Excellent. Both sets of barrels retain nearly all of their original black. Case colored action with minor fading near action bottom edges. Action sound, on face, ejectors timed well and triggers are crisp to pull. Stock with light storage indication. Forend very good. Excellent little field gun. CP
