Built in 1987. This 28 bore two barrel set of 25" and 26" barrels is also built with a case colored single mechanical trigger. The two sets of barrels are fitted with ejectors and tapered concave game rib. Top of ribs read "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co ENGLAND." Top of left barrel reads "28 GAUGE". The barrels are nicely engraved with floral scroll patterns at muzzle, breech as well as on rib near breech. The ribs are numbered "1" and "2" with gold inlay near breech. Bottom of barrels alongside forend loops read "MADE IN ENGLAND". Short rib reads "DELUXE". Tubes stamped with serial number "2512B". Barrel flats marked accordingly with Birmingham nitro proofs, gauge and chamber length (2 - 3/4"). Barrel flats also marked with choke designation "IMP/CYL" and "MOD" on the number "1" barrel and "IMP/MOD" and "FULL" on the number two barrel. The light and lively little 28 bore scalloped boxlock is built with an auto-safe "SAFE" in gold is handsomely engraved by Master Engraver Alan Brown. Mr. Brown has adorned the action with floral scroll and seven gold inlays. The left side of the action bares a pair of flying woodcock over a wooded Bulino engraved field, while the right shows a pair of gold inlaid flying grouse of a similar open wooded field. The bottom action is similarly engraved with a single golden flying grouse through a field with a gold inlaid retriever watching the bird in flight. Just beneath this scene is the word "DELUXE" at base of the action bottom near trigger guard bow. Action walls read "WESTLEY RICHARDS" at top just beneath the edge of the actions flats. The right-hand rolled-edged trigger guard is engraved with fine scroll and gold inlaid with a hunting dog on point. The long blued bottom strap is also scroll engraved and bears the gun's serial number "2152B". The "DELUXE" grade smoky reddish straight hand gripped English walnut stock is nicely checkered with fleur-de-lis borders, gold oval, matching checkered butt under a skeletonized engraved case colored butt plate. The gun's beavertail forend has matched checkering and blued engraved iron metal, case colored engraved escutcheon, diamond-shaped pin, and a blued Anson styled push-button release. The case for the gun is a brown leather case with canvas outer. The case is outfitted with ebony turnscrews, two-piece cleaning rod, round nickel-plated oil bottle, snap caps, cleaning accessories with black and gold leather trade case label. CONDITION: EXCELLENT. Barrels all retain 99% original black and bores are bright. The action retains pretty much all - 98% of its case coloring. Action is sound and on face, ejectors work well and trigger feels crisp. Very good gun. CP
