Built circa 1985, this handsome 20 bore game gun with 28" blacked chopper lump barrels with ejectors, steel front bead sight, and smooth concave tapered rib is also fitted with Briley choke tubes and a Holland & Holland styled self-opening mechanism. Rib and barrels near breech are engraved with foliate scroll. Rib reads in gold inlay "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co., ENGLAND.". Bottom of barrels with serial numbers "19806" and barrel flats with gauge (20), London nitro proofs, and date stamp of 85. Barrel flats also stamped "MODIFIED" on left and "FULL" on right. Chamber length 2 - 3/4". The fine full coverage scroll engraved seven-pin side lock with muted case colors are also nicely embellished with seven different gold inlays. The left lock has three flying grouse through a field. The right lock with three flying pheasants through a field and bottom of action with side view gold inlay of a short-haired pointer dog's head. The wonderful engraving was created and executed by Marcus Hunt. The double trigger action with front trigger being hinged is auto safe with "SAFE" in gold and with gold lined cocking indicators. Guns model engraved along right-hand side of front trigger. Blued top lever is engraved and thumbpiece is checkered. A reddish-brown smoky English straight hand grip stock has fine checkering with fleur-de-lis accents, drop points, gold oval, and a case colored, engraved skeleton plate over a checkered butt. The right-hand blued rolled trigger guard extends to a long bottom strap with serial number "2152H" in gold. The beavertail forend has matching checkering and fleur-de-lis accents. Escutcheon and diamond pin are engraved and case hardened. Iron metal and forend pin are blued. This multi-purpose game gun is secured and housed in a canvas-covered oak and leather ox blood colored case with three bone-handled screwdrivers, bone-handled chamber brush, cleaning rod with bone handle, gold plated oil bottle, bone and brass snap caps, choke wrench, jag, brush, mop, and black and gold "WESTLEY RICHARDS" case label. CONDITION: Excellent. Barrels retain 99% black finish. Barrel bores are bright and barrels are tight on face. Minor handling marks on stock & forend. Case color finish retain 85% color. Action and ejectors work perfectly well when cycled. Triggers are crisp. Case is very fine with only a very few handling, storage marks. CP
