High condition 1941 vintage Winchester Model 65, serial number 1004747. 24" round tapered barrel with a button-length magazine tube. Chambered in desirable .218 Bee caliber. Factory installed, fully adjustable bolt mounted peep sight. Hooded partridge style front sight. Straight grain walnut, un-checkered pistol grip stock and forearm. Steel checkered shotgun-style buttplate. CONDITION: Excellent plus with approximately 98% bright original blue remaining, with a couple light scratches on the receiver. Wood is excellent with a possible coat of linseed oil added to the stock. Bore is bright and clean. Action is tight and crisp. Overall a superlative example of a scarce Model 65 Winchester rifle chambered in the most desirable .218 Bee caliber. Approximately 5,714 total were manufactured between 1933-1947. This one would be hard to improve upon. -MKS-
