Winchester Second Model 1876 lever action rifle built by Winchester Repeating Arms Company New Haven, Connecticut in 1883. Full octagon steel rifled barrel with sheared front sight and "1876" marked rear graduated flip sight. 2-line barrel address "WINCHESTER REPEATING ARMS NEW HAVEN CT. KINGS IMPROVEMENT PATENTED MARCH 29 1866, OCTOBER 16, 1860". Blued action with integral serrated dust cover, plain trigger, and full magazine. Lyman tang peep sight. Walnut plain stock with steel crescent trapdoor buttplate. Walnut plain forearm with blued nosecap. Comes with Winchester Model 1882 tong type tool and Winchester Model 1894 bullet mold missing wood handles. CONDITION: Metal has been cleaned to a silvery patina with some light surface corrosion. Wood has aged patina with surface dings and scratches, and forearm has full-length crack on bottom. Dark bore with visible rifling. Gun does not correctly cock when cycled. Tools have surface corrosion with tong tool missing pin and bullet mold missing handles. DLM
