Circa 1997. A unique and beautiful bolt action Mauser magazine rifle with 22" blued steel barrel. Barrel is fitted with a stippled spear point quarter rib. Quarter rib has caliber engraved in German "KAL.6,5x65". Rib has standing sight at 50 yards, 100, and 150 yards folding leaf sights. All are gold lined. The nicely crowned barrel supported by mid barrel band with sling swivel as well as barrel band near muzzle with stippled, ramped spearpoint blade front sight and flip-up moon sight. Top of barrel is gold inlaid “HARTMANN & WEISS · HAMBURG”. Bottom of barrel stamped with serial number "NR.8608" and with German proof marks indicating the rifle was proofed at the "KIEL" proof house. Rifle is fitted with claw mounts and a Zeiss Diavari V 2.5 - 10x50 Scope. The action, bolt handle, long top strap over comb, floor plate, trigger guard, pistol hand cap box and skeleton plate have all been nicely case color hardened and adorned with light scroll engraving. Cap box engraved and gold inlaid with "GM". Engraved and serrated flag safe with "F" in gold on shroud. Bolt handle knob is checkered. This smooth Mauser action rifle has thumb cut out for stripper clip and blued double set triggers. Deluxe Turkish walnut stock and forend are a lovely reddish-brown with a light hand-rubbed oil finish. Stock with shadow line cheekpiece, fine, but sharp checkering on pistol grip, sling swivel and skeleton butt plate. Forend has matched checkering and ebony forend tip. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains 99% original blue. Action is smooth. Trigger is crisp to pull. Stock and forend with light handling marks. Rare and very nice rifle.
