Lot consists of: (A) Imperial German M98/05 bayonet marked "P.D. / Luneschloss / Solingen" on the ricasso complete with its original metal scabbard and leather frog. Dated 1917 on the spine. CONDITION: The blade has a nice gray patina and exhibits blemishes and freckling. The hilt has a nice set of original grooved wood grips which have turned dark brown with age. The grips display wear with a chunk of wood missing on the right side. Pommel exhibits pitting. The steel scabbard retains most of its blued finish with light pitting. The leather frog exhibits wear and cracking. Overall very good. (B) Unmarked Imperial German M98/05 serrated sawback bayonet complete with its original metal scabbard. CONDITION: The blade remains bright but exhibits scattered freckling and blemishes with light pitting. The hilt has a nice set of original grooved wood grips which have turned dark brown with age. The grips display scratches and light cracking. Pommel exhibits pitting. The steel scabbard is stripped of its finish and exhibits pitting and blemishes. Overall good. (C) Imperial German M98/05 bayonet marked "Pack Ohliger & Co. / Soliingen" on the ricasso complete with its original metal scabbard. Dated 1915 on the spine. The blade remains bright but exhibits scattered pitting and blemishes. The hilt has a nice set of original grooved wood grips which have turned dark brown with age. The grips display wear and a few small dents. Pommel exhibits pitting. The steel scabbard has lost its finish and exhibits heavy pitting. Overall fair. (D) Imperial German M98/05 serrated sawback bayonet marked "Anker-Werke / Bielefeld" on the ricasso complete with its original metal scabbard. CONDITION: The blade remains bright but exhibits scattered blemishes. The hilt has a nice set of original grooved wood grips which have turned dark brown with age. The grips display wear and a few dents. Pommel exhibits pitting. The steel scabbard has lost most of its blued finish and exhibits pitting and scratches. Overall good. (E) Imperial German M98/05 bayonet marked "Waffenfabrik Mauser A.G. / Oberndorf a.N" on the ricasso complete with its original metal scabbard. Dated 1917 on the spine. CONDITION: The blade remains bright but exhibits scattered pitting and blemishes. The hilt has a nice set of original grooved wood grips which have turned dark brown with age. The grips display wear and a few small dents. Pommel exhibits pitting. The steel scabbard retains some of its blued finish and exhibits areas of heavy pitting. Overall good. JLD
