The steel blade on this Postal Leaders Protection Dagger is maker marked for the firm of Weyersburg, Solingen. The blade has taken on an even greyed appearance, but still remains attractive. The nickel plated hand guard features a black enameled swastika on both sides, with an eagles head motif forming the center of the guard. The underside of the guard is stamped "DRP", for "Deutsche Reichs Post", and "1936" for the year. The black ebony grip remains intact with only a few light marks and dulling. A nickel Postschutz emblem is fixed to the center of the grips obverse. The nickel plated pommel nut with scattered light marks throughout. The black painted scabbard body has a few minor areas of paint loss. The scabbards fittings are nickel plated steel which retain their high silver luster that outshines any scattered freckling that may be observed. The nickel silver chain link hanger is intact, however, the belt loop clip has been slightly opened. The chained hanger is complete with leather belt loop. A silver dagger knot is fixed to the daggers grip. CONDITION: Overall very good to excellent D.W.
