Third Reich first pattern Luftwaffe dagger with a "DAVID MARSH, SOLINGEN" marked nickel-plated blade with light runner and scattered marks. Approximately 35% of the blade, mainly on one side, exhibits very light freckling and staining. A "280" is stamped on the blade opposite of the maker mark, and on the top of the scabbard throat. Nickel-plated fittings exhibit heavy patina and staining, and the swastikas are in the non-plated base brass. The blue leather wire-wrapped grip has moderate wear to approximately 40%, and the wire is intact with heavy patina. The blue leather covered steel scabbard has moderate wear throughout with scrapes and light dents. The nickel-plated scabbard fittings exhibit patina, with scattered light marks and a small dent on the upper fitting, as well as several 1/2" dents and a 3/4" crushed area on the lower fitting. The nickel silver chain exhibits heavy patina. CONDITION: Overall very good. WZ
