Classic configuration of the Lady Smith with blade front sight, notch rear sight, blue finish, case colored hammer and trigger. Smith and Wesson Mother of Pearl grips with inlaid medallions. The revolver has been masterfully engraved with Gough's trademark flowing florals and vinework on a serrated ground with approximate 85% coverage, with vacant space on barrel and straps. Signed "ENG. BY W. H. GOUGH" on left side of frame under grip, and "J.W. MELL" on rear. Mell name cut after bluing through the finish. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the factory bluing, with a few extremely minor marks. Some silvering at operational points, including a turn line. Some silvering at muzzle and one minor mark behind cylinder release. Grips are excellent with great color and devoid of any chips or cracks. Gough is well regarded as one of Colt's master engravers, and he did work for Colt, Remington, Savage, and others. Gough's pistols are absolute works of art and this is no exception. EW
