Lot consists of (A) Remington Model 1871 Rolling Block single shot 3 band rifled musket made from 1867-1888. Round rifled barrel with pinned integral blade front sight and flip rear sight graduated to 1000 yards. Case hardened action marked on tang with Remington address and patent dates up to 1871. Lower tang is marked with 1867 patent date and 1871 patent date and sling swivel on the trigger guard. Walnut plain buttstock with "8" marked on various spots and illegible numbers on top of comb. Walnut full forearm wood with iron nosecap and original steel ramrod. CONDITION: Overall good with surface discoloration. Oil soaked wood with heavy usage marks and dings. Poor pitted bore with good mechanics. (B) Remington Model 1871 Rolling Block U.S. Army Rifle made under license at Springfield Armory between 1871 and 1872. Blued round rifled barrel with dovetail mounted blade front sight and rear graduated flip sight. Blued action marked with "(Eagle) US Springfield 1872" on right side and "Model 1871". Walnut plain stock with blued "U.S." buttplate and marked with "EA" inspector's mark on left side. 2 band walnut forearm cut down to half original length. CONDITION: Gun has been totally refinished with 90% remaining with light handling marks and scratches. Good cartouche. Shootable bore with good mechanics. DLM
