Ballard No. 2 single shot rifle made by the Marlin Firearms Company from 1876 to 1891. Blued octagon barrel with bead pedestal front sight and aftermarket fold down rear sight. Case hardened action with plain trigger and adjustable tang peep sight. Walnut checkered stock with crescent steel buttplate. Walnut checkered splinter forearm. Barrel has been relined at one point in this gun's lifetime. CONDITION: Overall poor with metal parts exhibiting surface pitting and case colors fading to a plum patina. Wood has added checkering and is split behind action. Shootable bore with functioning mechanics. DLM
