Manufactured in 1910 by DWM under contract for Germany's military. Metal components are rust blued, with smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Hold-open device has been added and frame bears an arsenal proof signifying its arsenal alteration. Receiver is marked "1910" over the chamber area, with DWM arsenal proofs on the right hand side. German imperial eagle is present on the right side of the receiver, barrel, and left side of the breechblock. Front grip strap is unit marked "77.R.3.2." indicating issue to the 2nd Guard Reserve Division, 77th Reserve Infantry Division, 3rd Company. All numbers are matching and were applied in the military fashion. Complete with a scanned short history of the 2nd Guard Reserve Division during World War I. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original rust blue finish, exhibiting some areas of edge wear, some holster wear on either side of the muzzle, and areas of mild thinning on the rear of the receiver and grip straps. Muzzle area exhibits a few areas of cleaned oxidation. Strawed components show wear all around, with areas of age related discoloration. Bore exhibits light oxidation as well as fair to good rifling throughout. Checkered walnut grips bear some nicks to the diamonds and few minor impressions. A very nice example of a early and desirable unit marked DWM Model 1908 Military Luger. -MLW-
