This classic Winchester advertising piece features 2 full color illustrations by A.B Frost. The top illustration is entitled "WE'VE GOT HIM, SURE." and shows 2 hunters approaching a black bear, one with a Winchester 1895 lever action rifle and the other with what appears to be an 1886. The bottom illustration entitled "SNIPE SHOOTING" shows a hunter walking through brush after the elusive namesake fowl with his trusty 1897 slide action shotgun and pointer dogs. This calendar retains the original metal strips at top and bottom, the top with a provision to hang it. The original 1899 calendar pages are no longer present and have been replaced, possibly in the period, with an incorrect but complete set for the year 1900, attached with staples. CONDITION: Good to very good. Colors are bright with some foxing and light soiling. Some damage at the edges from wear and insects, with two small areas of loss. While paper is still strong, this poster appears to have been rolled up for many years. BAS
