1888 vintage Winchester Model 1886 rifle, serial number 19010. 26" octagon barrel with full length magazine tube. Fold down ladder rear sight and a German silver large blade front sight. Chambered in .45-70 WCF cartridge. Blue barrel and magazine tube with case hardened frame, hammer, lever, forearm cap, and buttplate. Plain straight grain walnut forearm and stock with rifle style crescent butt. CONDITION: Fine overall with 90-95% thinning original blue on the barrel and magazine, with scattered light freckling. Traces of case colors with hardened parts turning a mellow grey patina. Wood has been lightly sanded with finish added. Wood is sound and showing very light wear. Bore is bright showing light abrasions. Action is tight and crisp. Overall and attractive and clean Model 1886 in a most desirable chambering that would make a great shooter. -MKS-
