Sharps Model 1859 carbine originally made as a percussion gun and converted to fire 50-70 Rimfire. Blued round 6 grooved rifled barrel with blade front sight and 800 yard graduated flip sight. Case hardened action with plain trigger and "R.S. Lawrence" patents and Sharp's patent. Slide bar with saddle ring. Walnut plain stock with remnants of "D.F.C." ribbon inspector mark on right side. Walnut forearm with blued steel barrel band. CONDITION: 60% original barrel blue fading to a plum color. 60% original case colors fading to a silvery patina. Wood has lightly been cleaned with cartouche still visible. 2 small stress cracks and a chip behind the action which seem stable. Good bore and mechanics. DLM
