Pre-War German Mauser ES 340 B bolt action sporting rifle. Made mid-1930s in Germany. Right side of the barrel is marked "D.R.P.D.R.G.M". Left side of the receiver is marked "MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A.N.". Pre-War proofs on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. Mauser logo on the crest of the receiver and buttplate. Nice Mauser cartouche on the right side of the stock. No import mark. Matching serials on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. Round steel barrel with hooded (sight hood is an era original) blade front sight and rear sight adjustable to 200 meters. Front sight has been painted orange. Grooved receiver. Original finish on the metal components. Oil finished wood stock. Smooth metal butt plate. Includes attached reproduction sling. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with light wear. Wood has handling marks and scratches, but is very good overall. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Sling is excellent. JWA
