Pre-War German Mauser ES 340 B bolt action sporting rifle. Made mid-1930s in Germany. Right side of the barrel is marked "D.R.P.D.R.G.M". Left side of the receiver is marked "MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A.N.". Pre-War proofs on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. Mauser logo on the crest of the receiver and buttplate. Nice Mauser cartouche on the right side of the stock. No import mark. Matching serials on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. Round steel barrel with blade front sight and rear sight adjustable to 200 meters. Grooved receiver. Original finish on the metal components. Wood stock has been lightly refinished. Smooth metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with light wear. Wood has handling marks and scratches. There is a repaired crack on the wrist. Clean bore with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
