German Anschutz DSM-34 bolt action training rifle. Made mid 1930s and sold to youth/paramilitary organizations throughout Germany. Caliber marked on the barrel, followed by the serial number. Left side of the receiver is marked "GERMANIAWAFFENWERK A-G. ZELLA MEHLIS". "JGA" logo over "THURINGEN" marked on the crest of the receiver. "DEUTCHES SPORTMODELL" marked on the right side of the receiver in gothic script. There is a number "J565067007744" marked on the front of the trigger guard. Pre-War proofs on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. No import mark. Matching serials on the barrel, receiver, and bolt. Blade front sight with rear sight adjustable to 200 meters. Original finish on the metal components. Full wood stick with smooth metal butt plate. Hand guard is a replacement. Includes attached reproduction sling. No cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with some wear and scratches. Wood has been lightly refinished at some point, with handling marks, dents, and scratches. Bore is clean with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. Sling is excellent. JWA
