Engraved Colt Single Action Army revolver. Made 1890. 2 line address on the top of the barrel, marked "COLT's PT. F.A. MFG. CO./HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A.". Right side of the barrel is marked "38 W.C.F.". Underside of the barrel is signed by the engraver "N.C. Foster", most likely being engraved in the 1970s. Standard patent date on the left side of the frame. Matching serials on the frame, trigger guard and butt. Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and v-notch cutout rear. Gun was refinished at some point, and engraved, with scroll engraving on the barrel, frame, cylinder and grip straps. Imitation ivory grips, with an eagle carved on the left panel and a bull head on the right. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its original finish with light wear and handling marks. Grips have light finish wear. Minor frosting in the bore with some minor pitting. Good overall rifling. JWA
