Lot consists of (A) Brass framed derrigner with partially octagonal barrel. Diminutive German silver blade front sight. Brass frame, smooth walnut grips retained by central screws. Housed in a custom case French fitted for the gun and six rounds of ammo. Gun is unmarked but bears strong resemblance to the Brown Southerner derringer. CONDITION: Good. Metal parts have an even chocolate patina throughout, brass a dark mustard throughout. Grips are good with several scratches and chips, and with an extra layer of protective varnish. Action works appropriately when cycled by hand, bore is good with even pitting throughout. (B) Copy of a Remington vest pocket pistol with "103" under barrel, silver plated, and fitted with mother of pearl grips. Loop at butt with affixed chain to a white base-metal 51mm open face Elgin pocket watch, serial number 12435324, circa 1906. Chain appears to be silver, but is unmarked and has not been tested. Pistol engraved in acanthus scroll with a punch dot background. Housed in a clamshell case. CONDITION: Very good, retaining the vast majority of the silver plate with some areas of lifting and rubs, and some tarnishing that could easily be cleaned. Grips are very good with excellent fire, and two cracks on right scale, one running vertically through escutcheon. Hammer does not hold back when pulled, bore is good with pitting throughout. Watch is not running with staining and hair line cracks to dial. EW
